Inspiring Creative Kids

Kids love making craft projects during arts and crafts time but there is some preparation involved. We as parents do our best to organize creative activities but we often do not have as much time to spend crafting with our kids as we would like.

If you can get your kids to be creative on their own, that means less time spent on unproductive activities such as watching TV or playing video games.  But how does a parent go about that?  Here are some thoughts on the subject:

Cutting My Hair For My Daughter

As you may or may not know my daughter has won her battle and has beat cancer. She is now finished her chemotherapy, but still alot of tests and one last surgery to go.

Most people when they know of someone who is fighting cancer they shave their hair off. Really, completely, I wholeheartedly wanted to do this for my daughter.

Her exact words to me was, “No, Mom please don’t.” in her cute teenager voice.

So I compromised with her and told her she couldn’t stop me from cutting it short. I grew it long for over 4 years now and it was time to shed the locks.

As kids, we loved Easter, right?

It was especially fun not only coloring Easter eggs but hunting for them in the morning. Mom always found neat places to hide them. While coloring Easter eggs has taken on a similar but new art form, here are 7 inexpensive gift ideas for kids to enjoy as well.

1. For your younger children, you can put together an Easter basket filled with homemade cookies; Easter coloring books and crayons; and, of course, a small and inexpensive chocolate Easter Bunny.
