How Digital Scrapbooking Is Different From Paper Scrapbooking

July 5, 2008

Until a few short years ago, scrapbooks were created by hand, with only occasional and minimal assistance from a computer.  Things have definitely changed with the gaining popularity of digital scrapbooking.

Today, digital scrapbooking is a popular pastime and a favorite way to showcase photos.  Digital scrapbooking tutorials, software, layouts, and papers are widely available, and new people are giving it a try every day.  But will digital scrapbooking eventually replace traditional paper scrapping?

Both digital and paper scrapbooking have certain advantages.  Here are a few to consider.

Quick and easy tie-dye with Sharpie markers

June 28, 2008

Love tie-dye but hate the mess?  Here’s a quick and easy way to create the same gorgeous retro effect without all the buckets and mess.

To get started you’ll need to grab a few things:

o Package of colored sharpie markers.  These are sold at your local office supply store or in the office supply section of your grocer.  They come in a wide variety of colors ranging from red, blue, yellow, purple and so on.

o Rubber bands.  These are used in the same manner that they’d be used in a traditional tie-dye project.  They’ll be used to make bulls-eyes.

I can say I’m thrilled with the results, thanks to Kelly at Freshnets.com who is not only an incredible designer but she’s a great friend of mine. Thanks Kelly!

We’re celebrating our new design along with our new Official Sponsor My Memories Suite.

I also have some new shows planned and look forward to bringing them to you on a weekly basis along with some contests that are in the works, it’s shaping up to be a great year for us.
