Scrapbooking to Give as Gifts

December 16, 2007

Scrapbooking has become a nice hobby for you to creatively display some of your favorite pictures. If everyone raves about your abilities as a scrapbooking genius, you might want to create a scrapbook to give as a gift for those who don’t have the talent or the time to make beautiful keepsakes like you do!

It’s easy to shop online or mosey into a local store and pick up a present for someone you love.  But a personalized gift means you’ve put your heart into it – and it will be far more treasured than a department-store gift would be.

Reconnect With Your Family

December 15, 2007

As a scrapbooker I’m always looking for more ways to connect with my family. There are times I’ve noticed where one teenager is on the computer, another is off playing with friends. and the youngest is often on the computer as well.

And of course I’m often on the computer myself!

But since life has thrown us a bit of a curve ball recently, I’m feeling challenged to become a better parent and spend more time with my kids.

My friend Aurelia has put together a nice free report for you on just that, reconnecting with your family.

Create Faux Metal Rusting for Your Scrapbook

December 15, 2007

Get the rusted metal look without the rusted metal. Coat a red or burgundy colored cardstock with brown chalk. Next, add tan chalk for a powdery finish. Then, using a sponge-tip applicator, apply bronze or rusty color metallic rub on. Finally, add black and tan chalk on top of the rub on to shadow and highlight the item.

This appearance creates a hardening or masculine effect to scrapbook pages. It may also be used to highlight a mechanical or metal working theme.
