Delving into Digital Scrapbooking
April 15, 2008
We are delving into digital scrapbooking today! Digital scrapbooking can seem a little imtimidating to someone who’s never done it and is accustomed to “feeling’ the scrapping supplies. But, digital allows for some real inspired creativity and is worth a look.
Digital scrapbooking is no different that paper scrapping, it’s just done completely on the computer, no mess no fuss. Supplies come in the form of digital kits, which include papers and elements/embelishments, or separated in paper packs and element packs. Most digi-scrappers stick with one kit at a time when creating a layout, but there is no reason you cannot mix and match to suit your needs, the sky is the limit.
In order to scrap digitally, you will need a graphics program. Most computers come with a basic graphics program, which will do to see if you like digital scrapbooking. Once you’re hooked, Adobe Photoshop Elements is one of the better programs available, along with PaintShopPro.These graphics programs allow amazing effects to be applied to photos and pages and can really transform an otherwise so-so photograph.
So what’s the best way to get started? Download a few “freebies” or “designer Samplers,” this way you can see if you like it before spending a dime. Most digital scrapbooking stores offer freebies and samplers. Feel free to hop on over to my blog and snag a few freebies there to try your hand at digital design. Give it a try and be sure to come back here and let me know how you did!
Next week…Hybrid Mania!!!
